Here's a simple and delicious recipe for seared scallops:
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of fresh sea scallops
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
-
Rinse the scallops under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the scallops with salt and pepper.
-
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the butter and olive oil to the pan, swirling to coat the bottom.
-
When the butter has melted and is sizzling, add the scallops to the pan. Make sure to leave enough space between each scallop so they cook evenly.
-
Cook the scallops for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are golden brown and caramelized. Flip them over with tongs and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
-
Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook for another 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
-
Turn off the heat and add the lemon juice to the pan, swirling to coat the scallops evenly.
-
Serve the scallops immediately, garnished with chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy!
